Glossary

Some of the tissues are composed mostly of a single cell type; these are called simple tissues. Tissues made from aggregates of different cell types are called complex tissues. Both of these tissues act together as a unit to accomplish a collective function.

The three tissues system

The main tissues of plant may be grouped into three systems :

    1. Ground Tissue System

    • Parenchyma
    • Collechyma
    • Sclerenchyma

    2. Vascular Tissue System

    • Xylem
    • Phloem

    3. Dermal Tissue System

    • Epidermis
